Special Committee Board Members

Commission Boards are not bureaucratic add-ons—they are essential, high-performance mechanisms that maintain quality, ethics, and innovation across all PTCA operations.

Why Commission Boards Are Essential for the PTCA Structure

The Professional Tennis Coaches Association (PTCA) recognizes the importance of structured, transparent, and expert-led governance. This is why Commission Boards form a foundational pillar of the PTCA’s operations—ensuring that every area of coach development, certification, and collaboration with the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) is guided by global expertise and integrity.

1. PTCA Scientific & Research Commission Board

Their work guarantees that the coaching community stays aligned with current sports science, biomechanics, physiology, and psychology.

2. PTCA Academy Education Commission Board

Education is the backbone of coaching quality. This board includes leaders like Edgar Giffenig, Oliver Heuft, Jürgen Müller, Luis Mediero, Sven Groeneveld, and Emilio Sanchez, in addition to core researchers. Their role is to design and oversee educational content that meets the highest global standards—providing clarity, consistency, and relevance to PTCA Academy programs across all levels.

3. PTCA Academy Accreditation Board

Led by a mix of academic and field experts this board ensures the transparency and credibility of PTCA accreditations. Their task is to evaluate coaching competencies and uphold strict criteria for accreditation, guaranteeing that PTCA accreditations are both globally respected and performance-relevant.

4. PTCA–PTPA Licensing Board

This board governs the official licensing relationship between PTCA and PTPA. Including PTPA- leaders like Boris Bosnjakovic and Romain Rosenberg, it manages the recognition and regulation of official coaches in alignment with player representation standards. This structure protects players and coaches alike by ensuring only qualified, vetted coaches are involved at the professional level.

5. Women's Coach Development Commission Board (WTCA)

Through collaboration with the Women’s Tennis Coaching Association (WTCA), this commission ensures that the unique needs of female players and coaches are actively addressed. It leads the charge in creating inclusive, empowering coaching structures that enhance the development of women in tennis worldwide.
